"Longmire" is an American television drama series set in the modern Western genre. The series premiered in 2012 on A&E, where it immediately gained popularity among viewers thanks to its gripping storyline and charismatic characters.

Despite its success, the series was officially canceled on August 28, 2014, after completing its third season. This decision left many fans of the franchise disappointed. However, Warner Horizon Television, the company producing the series, was not resigned to this outcome and began actively searching for a new platform to continue airing the show. Just a few months later, on November 19, 2014, the rights were acquired by streaming giant Netflix, allowing the series to continue.

The fourth season premiered on Netflix on September 10, 2015, and was well received by both critics and viewers. Immediately after its conclusion, the service announced a renewal for another season, and on October 30th of that year, production on a fifth season was confirmed. A year later, on November 2nd, 2016, Netflix shared further important news: the series would be receiving a sixth season, which would serve as the final chapter of the story. The final season premiered on November 17th, 2017, bringing this gripping drama's epic journey to a close.

Brief Description of Events of the Series

"Longmire" is a story centered on the life of a small American town sheriff who continues to perform his duties despite a deep personal tragedy. The loss of his wife left an indelible mark on his fate, but he faces new challenges every day, striving to put justice above pain. His service involves investigating complex and often confusing cases, such as those involving local casinos, child trafficking schemes, and other manifestations of social dysfunction.

The protagonist's trusted assistant is an old friend and native whose dedication to the law complements the sheriff's professional efforts. In addition to assisting in criminal investigations, he is actively involved in issues related to protecting the interests of the region's indigenous community. At the same time, Longmire's daughter is increasingly concerned about her father's condition, who is deeply depressed and can no longer ignore it. The tension is exacerbated by the presence of an ambitious deputy whose ulterior motive is to take the sheriff's place.

The region under Longmire's jurisdiction serves as the stage for a continuous series of crisis events. Incidents such as bodies being discovered in nearby rivers, devastating fires destroying stables with valuable racehorses, or illegal marijuana plantations being found in the wilds are common. Each incident requires not only professional skill from the sheriff, but also personal fortitude in the face of adversity.
