News:Marvel has created a bold experiment with studio characters
Marvel has created a bold experiment with studio characters September 9, 2025 Marvel is debuting an R-rated animated miniseries called Marvel Zombies, giving fans a darker, more mature take on their favorite movie universe. All four episodes will be available to watch on Disney+ on September 24, creating excitement among fans who are looking forward to being immersed in an atmosphere filled with despair and chaos. The trailer immediately caught the attention, showing off both familiar characters and scenes of furious violence, replete with gory details reminiscent of the legendary Fatalities from Mortal Kombat. Among the infected are zombie versions of such iconic heroes as Captain America, Hawkeye, Namor, Thanos, and others. Less popular, but still human characters, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, and the vampire hunter Blade, take on the infected. Together, they band together to stop an out-of-control epidemic in a dystopian world where hope and despair are inextricably intertwined. Set in an alternate version of the Marvel Universe, the series centers on a new generation of heroes who find themselves on the front lines of a frighteningly fast-spreading virus. The series' concept centers on an infection that is transmitted through bites or contact with infected blood. The infection occurs almost instantly, forcing even the most steadfast followers of humanity to fight for survival. The series' concept originates from the fifth episode of the first season of the animated anthology series What If...?, "What If... Zombies?", where the virus first appears as a side effect of Janet van Dyne's return from the Quantum Realm. First, her husband Hank Pym, daughter Hope van Dyne, and Scott Lang are infected, and the infection quickly spreads to heroes like Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Wong, Falcon, Hawkeye, and Wanda Maximoff. The new series continues to explore this dark alternate reality, featuring beloved Marvel heroes in their terrifying zombie-monster forms that embody apocalyptic horror.
