Plot

A brief description of the events of the series

Ted Lasso, who has experience in coaching American football, unexpectedly receives an offer to lead a club of the English Premier League. However, behind this invitation lies a cunning plan of the new owner of the team, who hopes that Ted will turn out to be an amateur, fail the task and contribute to the fall of the reputation of Richmond.

Despite the lack of experience in European football, Lasso, thanks to his kindness, curiosity and optimism, quickly begins to win the trust of the players and the respect of others. His coaching approach is strikingly different from the stereotypical image of a stern mentor: instead of dictating strict rules, Ted inspires the team to reveal their best sides, builds relationships on humanity and sincere support. He puts a friendly atmosphere and mutual trust above a simple race for victories.

• An interesting coincidence can be traced with the famous 1989 film "Major League", which tells the story of a baseball club from Cleveland and its eccentric owner, who dreams of moving her team to sunny Miami. The film stars such stars as Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes and Tom Berenger, and its central theme is the transformation of the team from outsiders to public favorites. The film won audience recognition and received a high rating on the IMDb platform - 7.2 points out of a possible 10.

• The project's musical accompaniment belongs to the talented Marcus Mumford, the leader of the popular British band "Mumford & Sons". His participation in the creation of the series was a pleasant addition due to his friendly relationship with Jason Sudeikis, the performer of the main role. Especially symbolic is the fact that Sudeikis previously starred in the band's music video for the song "Hopeless Wanderer", strengthening the creative connection between the two artists.

In one of the scenes, Ted Lasso runs out of Rebecca Walton's office and hits his head on the door frame. Remarkably, this random episode was not written into the script, but it looked so credible and funny that they decided to leave it in the final version.
