A Brief Description of the Series Events
The plot of "Ozark" revolves around Marty Byrde, a financial consultant from Chicago, and his wife Wendy. They find themselves embroiled in a dangerous game with a Mexican drug cartel when Marty's business partner commits a theft that puts their lives at risk. To avoid imminent reprisal, Marty proposes a plan to the cartel to launder money in the Ozark Lakes region of Missouri.
Having moved to a quiet corner, at first glance, the Byrdes face new challenges. They have to deal with local criminals, such as the Snell family, who control the production of heroin, and the young, ambitious Ruth Langmore, who quickly becomes a key figure in their schemes.
In parallel with criminal showdowns, Marty and Wendy try to keep their family together, raising teenagers Charlotte and Jonah. The children, faced with the realities of the criminal world, go through a difficult period of adaptation. Charlotte rebels against her parents, and Jonah shows an unexpected interest in their activities.
With each season, the tension increases, the stakes rise, and moral boundaries blur. The Byrdes plunge deeper into the criminal world, making increasingly questionable decisions to protect themselves and their family. "Ozark" is a gripping drama about how ordinary people, finding themselves in an extreme situation, are forced to cross the line and do anything for the sake of survival.
