Season 1
Ae-sun is an energetic and determined girl from the picturesque island of Jeju, born in the early 1950s. From an early age, her thoughts were filled with poetry and dreams of becoming a famous poet, leaving her homeland and settling in a big city. But fate firmly held her in her native land. The pulse of her life always beat in time with wild emotions, bold actions, and adventurous ventures, which she infected those around her, drawing her family and friends into them.
Kwang-shik was her complete opposite. Modest, level-headed, and devotedly loving, he supported Ae-sun in all her endeavors, helping her move toward her dreams. Despite their radically different personalities and lifestyles, their union was imbued with deep love and tender care. At times, Kwang Shik found it difficult to understand his beloved's impulsiveness, but this only strengthened their special spiritual bond.
At the very height of their shared history, fate dealt a heavy blow: Kwang Shik was diagnosed with myeloma, a serious blood disease. Realizing the inevitability of his end, he dedicated his final days to surrounding Ae Sun with sincere love and attention. He imbued every gift—whether a hair ornament or another symbolic object—with profound meaning. His everyday gestures transformed into genuine expressions of affection, imbuing simple moments with unforgettable significance.
At this time, Ae-sun finally realized her long-held dream—publishing a collection of poems.
